Attorney Bio
Christie Alvey, Esq. is an estate planning and family law attorney based in Melone Hatley, P.C.’s Newport News office, where she represents clients in a wide range of matters, including comprehensive estate plans, revocable living trusts, wills, and powers of attorney, and family law matters such as divorce, custody, and property division. Licensed in both Virginia and Florida, Christie brings a well-rounded perspective to estate planning, trust administration, probate, and family law matters.
Christie’s background also includes civil litigation and real estate law, giving her a broad understanding of how estate planning and family law decisions can intersect with real property disputes. This experience allows her to anticipate challenges and provide well-rounded guidance tailored to her clients’ overall situations.
Before joining Melone Hatley, Christie founded and operated her own law practice, where she focused on estate planning and probate services and coached other attorneys on advanced estate planning tools and software. Her ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance is a hallmark of her work.
Christie earned her Juris Doctor from Ave Maria School of Law and holds a Master of Science in Education Administration and Leadership from Old Dominion University.
In her free time, Christie enjoys spending time with her family, attending her daughter’s extra-curricular events, and going to Disney World.
