Attorney Bio
Darley R. Twiddy, Esq. is a Litigation Attorney in the Newport News, VA office of Melone Hatley, P.C., where she represents clients in a wide range of family law and divorce matters. As a compassionate and strategic attorney, Darley is dedicated to helping individuals and families find stability and peace of mind during some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Growing up in a blended family, Darley saw firsthand how prioritizing children’s well-being can strengthen family relationships and promote lasting harmony. That early experience drives her passion for guiding clients through divorce, child custody, support, and property division cases with empathy, clarity, and strong advocacy. Whether through negotiation or litigation, Darley works tirelessly to achieve outcomes that protect her clients’ interests and their families’ futures.
A Virginia native, Darley was born and raised in Virginia Beach and attended James Madison University (Go Dukes!) for her undergraduate education, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with minors in Criminal Justice and Dance. Darley attended law school in Jacksonville, Florida, where she was a member of both the Mock Trial Team and the top 5 nationally ranked Moot Court Honor Board.
Before focusing her practice exclusively on family law, Darley built a broad foundation in criminal defense, estate planning, business formation, and real estate law. Her long-standing commitment to mental health advocacy also led her to serve as a court-appointed guardian and conservator for incapacitated adults and to represent clients in involuntary commitment and treatment proceedings for over a decade.
In her free time, she enjoys audiobooks, podcasts, creative projects, and spending time with her husband and three sons.
