Attorney Bio
William Vazquez, affectionately called “Billy,” joined Melone Hatley, P.C. in 2023 as a Litigation Attorney in the Reston, Virginia office. He has always been passionate about using the law to make positive impacts for others, and he is eager to help clients navigate the difficulties – legal and emotional – of family law matters.
Billy is originally from Long Island, NY. He first came to the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia or DMV in 2011 to get his undergraduate degree in International Studies at American University. He later returned to get his law degree from American University Washington College of Law after a year teaching English at a primary school in Nanjing, China.
Prior to joining Melone Hatley, P.C., Billy gained valuable experiences across a broad range of practice areas, including international human rights law, environmental law, antitrust law, immigration, and mortgage foreclosure. During law school, he worked on a number of international law-related projects, which included investigating international crimes, advising UN officials, and representing clients held in prolonged solitary confinement as a student attorney. After law school, he served as a law clerk at D.C. Superior Court and then later joined the firm Hausfeld LLP and worked on several complex civil litigation matters, including climate change-related litigation. As a result, he has the experience to handle your matter with a strong attention to detail, as well as with the sensitivity necessary to ensure your needs are taken care of.
In his free time, Billy enjoys spending time with his wife and their beagle, Johnny. He also enjoys reading, traveling, building LEGO sets, and volunteering, including for diaper and book drives.
