Attorney Bio
Samantha Bass is a litigation attorney in the Reston office of Melone Hatley, P.C., where she focuses her practice on family law matters with a client-first approach rooted in empathy and integrity. With a strong background in civil litigation, Samantha brings sharp legal insight and a commitment to advocacy in every case she handles.
Before joining Melone Hatley, Samantha worked at a boutique civil litigation firm in Northern Virginia, where she advanced from legal assistant to associate attorney. There, she gained extensive experience conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, and appearing before Virginia trial courts. Her work involved complex legal matters spanning multiple areas of civil law, requiring strategic negotiation and high-level client communication. Samantha’s legal foundation is grounded in advocacy for both individuals and businesses, and she now applies that same precision and dedication to helping clients navigate complex family law issues.
Samantha earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School while working full-time as a paralegal. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Biology from The College of William & Mary. She is admitted to practice in Virginia and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and is a member of the Fairfax Bar Association.
Outside of her legal work, Samantha enjoys spending time with her rescue dogs and cockatiel. A passionate supporter of animal welfare, she regularly volunteers with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue in Arlington, Virginia.
