Attorney Bio
Madeline Loving, Esq. is a litigation attorney in the Virginia Beach office of Melone Hatley, P.C., where she represents clients in family law matters, including divorce, custody, child and spousal support, and marital property distribution. With a background spanning civil litigation, criminal defense, and real estate law, Madeline brings a well-rounded perspective to each family law case, helping her clients navigate complex challenges with skilled legal strategy and empathy.
Madeline’s legal experience prior to joining the firm shaped her practical and compassionate approach to client advocacy. In private practice, she advised clients in emotionally charged custody disputes, divorce proceedings, and sensitive support negotiations. Her time managing criminal and civil matters taught her how to craft strong legal strategies under pressure while always prioritizing her clients’ well-being and long-term interests. She has also worked in the real estate sector, giving her unique insight into property issues that frequently arise in divorce and equitable distribution matters.
Throughout her career, Madeline has been known for her ability to deescalate conflict while still advocating assertively for her clients. She approaches each case with a clear understanding of both the legal and emotional stakes, working to find solutions that protect her clients’ rights while preserving their peace of mind. Her work in both trial and appellate courts has also equipped her to anticipate challenges and advocate with legal precision at every stage of a case.
Madeline was recognized by the Virginia Supreme Court as a member of the 2025 Pro Bono Honor Roll. Madeline earned her Juris Doctor from Tulane University School of Law, where she was honored with the Jackson-Ryan Pro Bono Advocacy Award for over 300 hours of service. She also served as a student attorney in the Juvenile Justice Clinic, working with vulnerable youth and their families. She holds a B.A. in Public Administration from the University of Tennessee, graduating magna cum laude.
