Amie Singeltary, Esq. is a Litigation Attorney in the Newport News, VA office of Melone Hatley, P.C., where she represents clients navigating some of life’s most personal and high-stakes legal challenges. With a strong foundation in civil litigation, Amie brings a steady courtroom presence, practical judgment, and compassionate communication style to family law matters involving complex disputes and emotionally charged issues.
Amie has regularly appeared in Virginia General District and Circuit Courts, advocating for clients in contested matters that require both strategic litigation skills and a thoughtful, client-focused approach. Her background in contract disputes and negotiations enables her to effectively manage cases where financial issues, enforcement concerns, or procedural precision are critical. She is known for helping her clients understand not only the legal process but also the realistic outcomes and next steps involved in their cases.
A significant part of Amie’s practice is grounded in service to the community. She serves as a pro bono attorney with Legal Aid Services of Eastern Virginia, assisting clients in understanding their rights and drafting legal documents. She also volunteers with the American Bar Association’s Free Legal Answers program, where she provides legal guidance through a virtual legal advice clinic.
