Attorney Bio
Valerie Cortinas Fisher, Esq. is an accomplished litigation attorney at the San Antonio office of Melone Hatley, P.C. With nearly a decade of legal experience, she brings a strong foundation in both family and criminal law. Valerie’s career includes service as a solo practitioner and as an Assistant District Attorney in Bexar County, where she prosecuted a wide range of cases within the Criminal Trial and Intake Divisions, including matters involving family violence. Prior to joining Melone Hatley, she served as a litigation attorney at a prominent family law firm, further honing her skills in complex domestic matters.
Valerie is known for her strategic, client-centered approach, especially in high-conflict cases where effective communication, compassion, and courtroom advocacy are essential. Fluent in Spanish, she is committed to ensuring her clients fully understand their legal rights and options so they feel supported and empowered throughout the legal process. She has extensive experience in handling cases involving custody disputes, grandparent rights, modifications, and other cases involving parent-child relationships. She is also highly skilled at managing cases at the intersection of family and criminal law, including those involving domestic violence and protective orders.
Valerie earned her J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science and Drama from Trinity University.
