Attorney Bio
Renée Rocheleau-Lucero brings over two decades of family law experience to the Reston office of Melone Hatley, P.C. Renée is known for her balanced approach to litigation and settlement, having handled complex matters in both Circuit Courts and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts throughout the region.
Prior to joining the firm, Renée provided comprehensive family law representation to clients throughout Northern Virginia, including litigation, appellate advocacy, and client counseling. Her experience spans trial preparation, motion practice, and courtroom appearances. In addition to family law, she has supported small businesses and entrepreneurs with entity formation, intellectual property protection, and civil litigation. Renée also trained paralegals and supported legal teams with research, brief writing, and case strategy.
Her early legal career was marked by success as a self-employed attorney and of counsel to various Northern Virginia firms, providing services in domestic relations, appellate advocacy, contract law, and small business needs. She has also supported clients with civil and criminal appeals, establishing a track record of success in the Virginia and D.C. Courts.
Before practicing law, Renée applied her skills in technical writing and training within the employee benefits sector and spent several years as an adjunct English instructor at colleges in Texas, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, an experience that reflects her clarity in communication and dedication in educating clients.
Renée earned her Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, where she served as a Moot Court Fellow. She holds a Master of Arts in English and a dual Bachelor of Arts in English and History from Southern Methodist University.
She remains active in the legal community as a member of the Virginia State Bar, the District of Columbia Bar, and the Arlington County Bar Association, where she also served on the Board of Directors. She is admitted to practice in the Eastern District of Virginia and the Federal Bankruptcy Court in Alexandria.
Outside of the office, Renée enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her husband, her son and daughter, and their dog, Bentley.
