Julia joined the firm in November 2021 as a litigation attorney after she was drawn to Melone Hatley’s client focused approach and dedication. Born and raised in Virginia, Julia decided to pursue family law in order to be able to use her oral and written advocacy skills to help people get through some of the toughest periods in their lives. She remained dedicated to this interest, even interning for a family law firm prior to starting law school at William & Mary.
During law school, Julia was a member of the Women’s Law Society and William & Mary’s top 10 ranked moot court competition, even serving as business justice on the executive board for the latter. While on the moot court team, Julia competed in multiple family law based moot court competitions and received an award for her oral advocacy skills. Julia also found time to participate in William & Mary’s family law clinic, assisting low-income individuals with family law matters in the Tidewater area.
In her free time, Julia enjoys watching a good movie and playing with her dog, a cocker spaniel named Hazel.
