Cynthia has practiced family law for more than twenty years in the Commonwealth of Virginia, focusing on custody/visitation, relocation, divorce, support, and equitable distribution issues. Recognizing that there are no one-size-fits-all solutions to the problems families face, Cynthia is compassionate yet direct with her clients as she utilizes her experience and creativity to help them to navigate this difficult chapter.
Cynthia graduated with college and university honors from Carnegie Mellon University with dual B.A. degrees in Professional Writing and Creative Writing, as well as a minor in Political Science. She earned her Juris Doctor from William & Mary Law School, where she was a member of the Law Review and authored a published note entitled, “Fighting the Devil We Don’t Know: Kansas v. Hendricks, A Case Study Exploring the Civilization of Criminal Punishment and Its Ineffectiveness in Preventing Child Sexual Abuse.”
Prior to joining Melone Hatley, Cynthia was a solo practitioner and served as a certified Guardian ad Litem for children. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, baking pie, and rooting for the New York Rangers hockey team.
